“Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations.”
-Isaiah 42:1-
When I was first married my beautiful wife and I would go camping by the lake with a large groups of our friends in the summer. Early in the afternoon we would all throw our money together so that we could buy a couple of cases of beer for the weekend. We would all decide what brand of beer we wanted and would send one person to go get it. Now in all the time we did that we never once got the wrong brand of beer brought back to the camp. Now you might call me naive but I except voting for president to work out the same way.
However, what we have seen in recent history is the equivalently of waiting for your friend to comeback with your favorite beer and learning that he could only get a few cases of soda pop. It’s frizzy but it lack all the fun you were hoping for and is frankly just disappointing. The electoral college has acted a lot in the same way. We all told them what we wanted them to pick up at the store but they came back with sh!t.
The electoral College has proven to be a truly un-American system influenced by the deep state. Through the 2020 election we have seen time and again how they have used it to try and delegitimize Trump’s win. This mechanism of government worked in the world that our founding Fathers lived in, a world of honorable men that cared about the country. But now it has been corrupted. We need to make sure that the will of the people is heard. The only reasonable way to do this is to insist that your state votes for the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. This is a rather complicated agreement among states to award all of their electoral votes to the presidential candidate that wins the popular vote. As real Americans make up the majority of the country this should help ensure that our voice is always counted
